  • Biography

King for a Day, a multiple stakes winner and graded stakes-placed son of leading sire Uncle Mo, is a standout in the breeding world. Hailing from the same family as Grade 1 millionaire Mind Control, King for a Day made his mark on the track by defeating Champion Maximum Security as a 3-year-old, the only horse to do so that year. He broke his maiden in impressive fashion, going wire to wire over 8.5 furlongs in a field that included graded stakes winner Tacitus. King for a Day also won the Sir Barton Stakes on the Preakness undercard, narrowly missing the Pimlico track record. His pedigree is further bolstered by his dam, Ubetwereven, a multiple stakes-producing broodmare, and a direct link to multiple stakes-placed Goddess of Fire, now a retired millionaire with nearly $400,000 in earnings. A top performer on the track with multiple Triple Digit Beyer Numbers, King for a Day’s progeny have already shown promise, making him a sought-after stallion. He was the leading New York-based stallion of weanlings sold at the 2022 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale, with sales reaching $130,000, $50,000, and $40,000.
